Wheelman
This run is my swan song
After tonight
This smuggling is going to stop
Every headlight in my rearview mirror
Looks like it's a cop
All these kilos in back
They're weighing heavy on my mind
I can't get busted
Lord knows I'm too old
To do anymore time
I sleep with one eye open
I keep the other on my gun
I'm the only friend I've got
And I'm not sure,
he's one I can trust
You think it's easy money
It cost more than it's worth
I'm paid from people's broken dreams
It's stained with blood
I'm sure it's cursed
Running on borrowed luck unanswered prayers
There's no contracts in this business
The only insurance I have
Is some criminal's word
I've used so many names
I'm not sure mine
is authentic or not
It changes every time
the wheels turn
Everyone I meet
Must be someone I forgot
The playing field is so crowed
Their all fighting for elbow room
You can't tell the players even with a program
Who's on the take or talking out of school.
Don't judge me for this life of my mine
Don't put the blame on me
I wouldn't be a wheelman and smuggler
If you and you and everyone else
didn't have the need
